About Our Farm
Hay Pritty Alpines is located in the mountains of Western North Carolina. We breed, show and sell high quality, high milk producing French Alpine Dairy Goats.
It all began 7 years ago with the purchase of our first three Alpine Dairy Goats, Migonne, Star and Fennell. Our love of goats grew even more when we began bottle feeding all of our babies and showing our does around the country. We participate in Linear Appraisal, DHIR, and annual CAE tests. We have a very well managed herd of 10 milkers, 11 junior does and 4 bucks. We worm when necessary but vaccinate, supplement selenium and copper throughout the year. We provide free choice minerals and soda and feed our does a well balanced diet of 16% sweet goat feed (plus some other goodies), alfalfa and orchard grass hay.
Some of our farm highlights for 2010 include: participating in DHIR and having all seven of our milkers receive their *M, Madeline placing 5th at the 2010 National Show in Louisville, and receiving a grant from the WNC AgOptions program who partners with RAFI-USA and the North Carolina Tobacco Trust Fund. This grant is allowing us to build a certified Grade b milking parlor on our farm. We will now be able to sell our milk to certified cheese dairies in Western North Carolina.
